Juventus and Roma are clashing at Allianz Stadium in a derby match of round 8 in the Italian Serie A. Juventus have woken up after their terrible start, and they are a solid team that can beat anyone in Italy. Roma has been doing really well so far, they are scoring a lot of goals, but their defense tends to get shaky.
Juventus is now on a 6-game streak without a loss, and they have won their last 4 games in a row. During this streak, Juventus has scored 8 goals, while they conceded 4 goals, but the good news is they have kept 2 clean sheets in a row. In their latest game against Torino on the road, Juventus was the better team with 53% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 79% of the correct passes. This was a tough game for both teams, and neither team was willing to give an inch, but Juventus was luckier in the 86th minute, and they have won this game 0-1. Juventus also has 2 wins in the Champions League, and to top that, they have kept 2 clean sheets in that competition as well. Dybala, Morata, and Locatelli have each scored 2 goals for Juventus this season, while Dybala has also added 2 assists. Morata, Ramsey, and Rabiot are injured, and they will most likely miss this game, while Dybala is still questionable. Juventus is slowly climbing the standings, but they are now 11 points away, and they will need everything they can get to reduce that gap.
Roma has lost 2 of their last 12 games, while they won the other 10, but those 2 losses were in Serie A, which really hurt their ambitions. Roma has scored a solid 18 goals so far this season, but as I’ve mentioned, their defense tends to get shaky, and they have conceded 8 goals so far. Roma was playing against Empoli in their last Serie A game, and they were the better team with 64% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and a high 91% of the correct passes. Roma has won this game 2-0, but the result could have been a lot higher if they had a bit more focus in the attacking end. Veretout and Pellegrini have been in excellent form for Roma with 4 goals each this season, while Pellegrini also added 3 assists. Spinazzola and Smalling are injured, while Abraham is questionable. Mourinho is doing a great job for Roma this season, and it’s always great seeing them close to the top of the table.
I think this will be a fantastic match because both teams are in great form, they are both consistently scoring goals, and both defenses are still shaky. Juventus is playing in the Champions League next week, while Roma is playing in the Europa League. This is the game that could go either way, which is why I will stick to goals.
