FC Porto is hosting AC Milan at Estadio do Dragao in round 3 of Group B in the UEFA Champions League. Porto is still without a win in the Champions League, but they did get a draw against Atletico Madrid. Milan was leading in both of their Champions League games, but they ended up losing both, and they are in the last place of this group.

Porto is probably the best team in Portugal, and they are now in 2nd place, but their form is good, and they are on a 2-game winning streak. Offensively, Porto hasn’t done much in the Champions League, and they have scored only 1 goal, but they got demolished by Liverpool in the previous round. Porto didn’t play in the Primeira Liga this weekend, but they did play in the Portuguese Cup, and they have won that game 0-5. The only goalscorer for Porto in the Champions League is Taremi. Unfortunately for Porto, they were drawn into a strong group, but I think they can end up in that 3rd place which will take them into the Europa League.

Milan has shown us some great soccer in their 2 Champions League games, but they ended up losing both of those games, the second one was particularly painful. Milan was playing against Verona in Serie A this past weekend, and they were solid with 55% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 78% of the correct passes. This wasn’t a particularly good game from Milan, especially the first half when they were losing 0-2. In the second half, Milan is waking up, and they were able to completely turn the score around. Milan has won this game 3-2. In the Champions League, Milan is in the last place, but they have scored 3 goals while conceding 5 goals. Leao, Rebic, and Diaz are the goalscorers for Milan so far. The good news for Milan is Ibrahimovic and Giroud are both healthy, and they are expected to be in the starting lineup. Milan has some injury problems. But I still think they are a solid team with enough depth to compete in this game, and it’s not like they have a choice. Milan needs a win at all cost.

It’s been a long time since these two teams have played a game against each other. Both teams need a win, the only question is who wants it more. I think Milan is a more experienced team, I think they have more quality, and I see them winning this game.
