Southampton and Burnley face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. Mary’s Stadium. When these two teams faced off in April of 2021, Southampton came away with the 3-2 victory. 

Southampton currently sits in 15th place in the standings having picked up seven points. Even though they have had some struggles this season, they are coming off a 1-0 win over Leeds United. Southampton has scored six goals total while the defense has given up 10 goals. With the offense having issues, it’s even more important that the defense steps up. Burnley is still looking for their first win of the season but they haven’t looked all that bad. Burnley’s last game was against Manchester City and the defense held them to only two goals. Burnley has scored five goals while the defense has given up 13 goals total.No one on Burnley has scored more than a goal, and they need to find a goal scorer they can count on in key moments.
