Hellas Verona vs. Atalanta 12/12/21 Serie A Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Hellas Verona is welcoming Atalanta to Marc Antonio Bentegodi in round 17 of the Italian Serie A. Verona is having a fabulous season, they are scoring a ton of goals, but their defense is still crap. Atalanta is now in shock because they got knocked out of the Champions League at home, but life goes on, and so will Atalanta.

As I’ve mentioned, Verona is having a fantastic season, they have scored 32 goals, they are in 10^th place, but their terrible defense is preventing them from moving up. Verona has lost only 1 of their last 8 games, and they were even able to keep one clean sheet during this streak. Giovanni Simeone is the leading goalscorer for Verona with 11 scored goals, while Caprari added 4 assists. Verona does have a few important injuries, but I don’t think it will affect their goalscoring ability. As far as their last games of the year go, Verona is playing in Coppa Italia next week, and then they have 2 more games in Serie A against Fiorentina and Torino, who are both teams Verona can beat, and with an offense like that, I think they just might.

Well, Atalanta was playing against Villarreal at home in the Champions League earlier this week, and they needed a win, which they didn’t get. Atalanta was sloppy, they were slow, and they were terrible on the defensive end, and they lost this game 2-3 which means Atalanta will be playing the Europa League next year. As far as Serie A goes, Atalanta is keeping up with Milan, Inter, and Napoli, and they are now in 4^th place with 34 points, 35 scored goals, and 19 conceded goals. Champions League aside, Atalanta is on a 5-game winning streak in Serie A, and they have scored 15 goals during that streak, but I suppose they weren’t ready for that game against Villarreal. Zapata has scored 9 goals for Atalanta, while Pasalic added 7 goals and 5 assists. It might be better for Atalanta to play in the Europa League, the pressure is not as big, and they actually have a chance of winning it, and with a bit of luck, they just might.

Atalanta is undefeated on the road this season, they haven’t lost any of their last 5 games on the road overall, while Verona hasn’t lost any of their last 6 home games. This should be an interesting matchup, but I’m taking goals.
