PSG is not playing their best soccer, but they are still the best team in this league, and they are still capable of scoring a ton of goals.

Lorient is a terrible, terrible team right now, their form is a disaster, and they are in 19^th place in the standings with 15 points, offensively, Lorient is not great, and they have scored only 14 goals, while their defense is even worse with 30 conceded goals in 18 games. Lorient will have a tough time staying in the Ligue 1 for another season, but luckily for them, they are only 1 point away from the safe zone. Lauriente is the leading goalscorer for Lorient with 4 goals, while Moffi has added 3 assists. Lemoine, Morel, Loric, and Diarra are all injured, and they will miss this game. Lorient is on an 8-game losing streak, and I somehow doubt they will break it in this game.

Their latest win was in the French Cup, and it’s not even worth mentioning because they were playing a lower division team. With 45 points, PSG is at the top of the table, and the closest team to them is Marseille with 13 points less. Overall, PSG is the best team in the league, they have scored 38 goals so far this season, and while their defense is sloppy, they have conceded only 16 goals so far. Mbappe is the leading goalscorer for PSG with 10 goals and 9 assists, and he is expected to be in the starting lineup for this game as well. Messi is also expected to be in the lineup, and these two players will be running the show. Draxler, Neymar, Bernat, Rafinha, and Kurzawa are all injured, while Verratti is suspended because of the yellow cards. I don’t know what would need to happen to PSG for them to lose the top spot this season, and even though it’s only half of the season, they will be the new champions of Ligue 1 this season, but their main goal remains the Champions League.

Lorient has had some success against PSG, including their match last season which Lorient won at home. With the form Lorient is in right now, their defensive struggles, and PSG’s offensive potency, I don’t think Lorient stands a chance in this game.
