Malmo FF is welcoming Chelsea to Stadion in round 4 of Group H of the UEFA Champions League. Malmo is by far the worst team in this group, and not only they are winless, but they are also scoreless as well. Chelsea is in 2nd place right now with 6 points, but they have been solid on both ends, and they are looking pretty well.

Malmo has been terrible so far in the Champions League, and honestly, nobody expected more from this team. There is still a chance Malmo will get to the Europa League spot, but they will need at least 4 points for that to happen. It’s hard to say if Malmo was worse on the defensive end or the attacking end, but they are bad. In the Allsvenskan league in Sweden, Malmo is at the top with 51 points, but their form is shaky, and it could cost them unless they become more consistent. In their last game against Sirius on the road, Malmo was excellent with 63% of ball possession, 11 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks, 4 big chances created, and 86% of the correct passe. When I say Malmo was excellent, I meant in the attacking end, and they have won this game 2-3. I honestly don’t see Malmo accomplishing anything in the Champions League, and I think they should focus on the Allsvenskan league.

Chelsea has scored 5 goals so far in the Champions League, and Jorginho is the leading goalscorer with 2 goals. The bad news for Chelsea is Werner, Kovacic, and Lukaku are all injured, and they will miss this game. Pulisic is close to being fully ready, but not just yet. In their EPL game against Newcastle on the road this past weekend, Chelsea was the dominant team with 79% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and a solid 90% of the correct passes. It took a while for Chelsea to score a goal, but once they did, the flood gates opened. Chelsea has won this game 0-3. There is still a chance Chelsea can take over the top of this group as Juventus is in a bit of a slump right now, and winning the top spot would certainly help Chelsea get an “easier” opponent in the next stage. Yes, the injuries Chelsea has are a big one, but this is the team with a great coach, a lot of talent, and more importantly, a lot of depth.

Chelsea has always beaten Malmo in the past, and I think it will stay that way. With all due respect to Malmo, they are done in the Champions League, and Chelsea will put a final nail in their coffin.
