Malmo FF is hosting Juventus at Stadion in round 1 of Group H of the UEFA Champions League. Malmo has entered a bad form at the wrong time, and they are now on a 3-game streak without a win. Juventus isn’t doing much better, and they have won only 1 of their last 5 games, but they haven’t won any of their 3 Serie A games.

Malmo is in 3rd place in the Allsvenskan league in Sweden, but they are only 3 points away from the top. Offensively, Malmo is the best with 38 scored goals, but their defense is not even in the top 5 in Sweden. In their last game against Norrkoping at home, Malmo was the better team with 61% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 79% of the correct passes. After getting ahead in the 59th minute, Malmo was on the brink of a win, but they conceded a goal in the 95th minute, and this match has ended in a 1-1 draw. I’m definitely sure Malmo is far from good enough to play in the Champions League, and I don’t think they will have a good time.

Juventus is having a tough time finding themselves under the new head coach Allegri, but they are an iconic Italian team, and I think they will get their first win soon enough. Arthur, Jorge, Chiesa, and Cuadrado are injured for Juventus, and they will be missed. In a derby against Napoli in Serie A this past weekend, Juventus has started well, but they sunk fast. Juventus has had 33% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 3 big chances created, and 81% of the correct passes. After Morata scored in the 10th minute, everything was great for Juventus, but they have conceded 2 goals in the second half, and they ended up losing this match 2-1. The defense is Juventus’ biggest problem at the moment, and that will take a lot of work to improve, but if they can get their offense going to compensate for that terrible defense, they will be fine. I don’t think Juventus will win Serie A this season also, but as far as the Champions League goes, anything is possible, even though I don’t expect much from Juventus.

Malmo and Juventus have played against each other twice, and Juventus has won both of those games, but I think this time it will be a lot harder. Juventus is a big favorite here, but Malmo will surely not go down easily. I will take the goals in this one.
