Scotland is hosting Czech Republic at Hampden Park in round 1 of Group D in the Euro Cup 2021. Scotland is playing this game at home, and more importantly, they are in great form at the moment. Czech Republic is a solid team, and they are solid form, but they are a young team that needs experience.

Scotland is undefeated in their last 5 games, and they are a solid defensive team, and that will be their main weapon in this tournament. In their 2 friendly games ahead of this tournament, Scotland has tied a game against Netherlands, and they have beaten Luxembourg on the road. There are some really good players like Adams, McTominay, Fleck, and Robertson on this team, but they are very thin in the attacking end. This is a tough group for Scotland with England, Croatia, and Czech Republic, but Scotland is certainly capable to get some points here and fighting to be among those best third-placed teams. As far as the World Cup qualifications go, Scotland is still undefeated in their 3 games, and it’s likely they will qualify for the World Cup. Playing at home will be a huge advantage for Scotland, I just hope they will know how to use it.

Czech Republic is a solid and talented young team, but as we saw in their friendly game against Italy, they get sloppy when pressured. Czech Republic was playing against Albania in their last friendly game, and it was a good game for them. Czech Republic has won this game 3-1. If I had to choose a player or two from this team that can make a difference, I would need to go with Soucek who had a fantastic season with West Ham, and Schick who was solid in Bundesliga for Leverkusen this season. there are a few more players in this team that could potentially have a good tournament, but Czech Republic still needs a year or two with these players to reach that optimal level. Czech Republic is going in the right direction, they are constantly improving, and I think their future is bright. Czech Republic will be fighting for that third place and hope it will be enough, but I don’t think they have the defense to be among the best third-placed teams.

When playing at home, Scotland has not lost to Czech Republic in their last 3 games. The trends are split here, but I will take Scotland here because they are playing at home, and they are in slightly better form. Scotland is also a better defensive team.
