VfB Stuttgart vs. Bayern Munich 12/14/21 Bundesliga Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

VfB Stuttgart is hosting Bayern Munich at Mercedes Benz Arena in round 16 of the German Bundesliga. Stuttgart has had a few positive results as of late, but they are still struggling defensively. Bayern is also struggling defensively, but they have a lot more offense to compensate for that.

Stuttgart is undefeated in their last 3 games, and thanks to that they have stayed outside the relegation zone. Stuttgart is decent in the attacking end with 22 scored goals, but they have conceded 25, and that is a problem. Another problem for Stuttgart is their injury list, which is very long, and they are struggling with it since the season started. Mavropanos is the leading goalscorer for Stuttgart with 4 goals, while Sosa added 3 assists. Stuttgart is capable of playing so much better, on both ends, and from time to time we see glimpses of that, but because of all the injuries Stuttgart will be fighting to stay in Bundesliga instead of fighting to go to the Europa League, and they definitely have the quality for it.

Bayern now has a 6-point advantage ahead o Borussia Dortmund at the top of Bundesliga, and they are by far the best offensive team in the league with 47 scored goals. Lewandowski is of course the leading goalscorer for Bayern, and he will once again be in the starting lineup. Muller has also been outstanding with 4 goals and 12 assists. Bayern also has quite a few injuries right now, but the players they are missing the most are Goretzka and Kimmich who will most likely not be playing again this year. In the Champions League draw earlier this week, Bayern got lucky I must say, and they will be playing against Red Bull Salzburg in the round of 16. There are a few teams in Bundesliga who can go toe to toe with Bayern, but their next two opponents are not among those teams, and I think Bayern can expect both wins. I mentioned Bayern’s defense, and the fact that it’s not playing really well this season, but the team like Bayern don’t have to worry about it as much because they have the offense to outscore any team out there, and they are doing it well.

Stuttgart has had success against Bayern in the past, but I don’t think Stuttgart is good enough right now to be a threat to Bayern. I think Stuttgart can score because of Bayern’s defense, but they certainly can’t defend against one of the best offensive teams in the world.
