Valencia is welcoming Sevilla to Mestalla in round 21 of the Spanish LaLiga. Valencia is a solid team, but once again they are on a losing streak, which hopefully won’t be as long as the last one. Sevilla is playing great in LaLiga, they are in second place, and they are still trying to catch up to Real Madrid.

Valencia has lost only 2 of their last 10 games, and they are now in 10th place with 28 points, but Valencia can do so much better. Offensively, Valencia is more than good with 32 scored goals, but their defense is not good enough, and they have conceded 32 goals as well. In their last LaLiga game, Valencia was playing against Real Madrid, and they ended up losing that game 4-1, but they were missing a few key players for that match. Of the 32 goals Valencia has scored, Soler and Guedes have each scored 7, while Guedes also added 4 assists. Soler was suspended because of the yellow cards last week, but in the meantime, he picked up any injury, and he is still questionable for this match., Valencia is still close to the Europa League spot, and if they can play as well as they did so far, I think they can get there, they just need to tighten their defense.

Sevilla hasn’t lost a LaLiga game since late November, and that is why they are the closest team to Real Madrid in the standings. Sevilla has 44 points, 5 points less than Real Madrid, but they also have one game less played. Offensively, Sevilla is good with 31 scored goals, but their defense has been absolutely outstanding so far this season with only 13 conceded goals in 20 goals. Sevilla is the best defensive team in the league, and if they can keep it up until the end, I wouldn’t be surprised if they win the title. Rafa Mir is the leading goalscorer for Sevilla with 6 goals, while Ocampos added 5 goals. Delaney, Navas, and Lamela are all injured, while there are a few more questionable players in Sevilla. In the Copa del Rey last week, Sevilla was playing against Betis on the road, and they ended up losing that match 2-1, but that was the game that was interrupted, and it was continued the next day. The schedule is tough for Sevilla over the next few weeks, and they are facing Celta and Osasuna soon, but Sevilla doesn’t have to be scared of anyone because their defense is outstanding, and they are scoring enough goals to win even if they concede a goal.

The trends are even in this matchup, but Sevilla is the better team overall this season. Valencia is not bad, especially at home, but we will see if they can snap out of this losing streak so soon. I don’t think they can, and for that reason, I’m going with Sevilla.
