Overall, Atletico hasn’t won any of their last 3 games, while losing 2 of those 3, but only 1 of those games was in LaLiga. Last weekend, Atletico has lost to Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup, while losing to Real Sociedad in Copa del Rey earlier this week. Atletico just can’t get out of this hole they are in this season, and they are further and further away from defending the title from last season. with 33 points, Atletico is now in 4^th place, and they are in danger of losing that spot if they don’t get their game together. Suarez and Correa are the leading goalscorers for Atletico Madrid with 7 goals each, while Carrasco and Correa added 4 assists each. Griezmann is now the only injured player for Atletico at the moment. The defense Atletico was known for in the previous seasons is nowhere to be seen, and that is their biggest problem this season.

Valencia is having a solid season, more than solid, and I’m glad because they are one of the most iconic teams in Spain. I guess a goal difference of 0 is better than the negative difference, but Valencia is conceding a lot of goals, and that might cost them eventually. Gaya is suspended for this game because he conceded a red card against Sevilla, but everyone else is healthy and ready to go. Guedes is now the leading goalscorer for Valencia with 8 goals and 4 assists, while Soler added 7 goals. Three of their next 4 opponents are tough for Valencia, but there are some games where they would be able to win some points, as long as they can keep scoring goals because they certainly can’t defend.

Atletico is terrible form, but one thing that might go their way is that they were dominant at home in this matchup.
