RB Leipzig is welcoming Hoffenheim to Red Bull Arena in a derby match of round 29 in the German Bundesliga. Leipzig is now on fire, they are playing really well on both ends, and they are undefeated in their last 12 games. Hoffenheim is in a bit of a slump right now, but they are still in the Champions League race, even though the Europa League is more their level right now.

In the Europa League earlier this week, Leipzig was hosting Atalanta, and that game has ended 1-1, which is not a result you want from a home game. In their last Bundesliga game, Leipzig has destroyed Borussia Dortmund on the road 1-4. As of right now, Leipzig is in 4th place with 48 points, and they have been one of the best offensive teams in the league with 61 scored goals so far. Defensively, Leipzig has also improved a lot, and they are now among the best defensive teams with 31 conceded goals. Nkunku has been amazing for Leipzig with 16 goals and 11 assists. There aren’t any notable injuries in Leipzig as of right now. Leipzig will qualify for the Champions League, but they need to focus on the Europa League next week because they are good enough to win it.

As I’ve mentioned, Hoffenheim is in a bit of a slump right now, and they haven’t won any of their last 3 games, which has probably ended their Champions League hopes. Of course, there are still enough games until the end of the season and Hoffenheim still can qualify. In their last 3 games, Hoffenheim has scored only 2 goals, while they have conceded 6 goals, and that is something they need to fix as soon as possible. With 44 points, Hoffenheim is now in 6th place, which is the Conference League spot. Their offense is solid, but it has to be better considering their defense was sloppy for most of the season. with 7 goals, Bebou is the leading goalscorer for Hoffenheim, while Baumgartner and Rutter have added 6 goals each. Raum has added 9 assists, while Kramaric has 8 assists. There are a lot of injured and suspended players in Hoffenheim right now, and that is a huge problem when you need to play against one of the best teams in the league. Overall, I think this season was a success for Hoffenheim, but they are capable of more.

When playing at home, Leipzig has not lost to Hoffenheim in their last 4 games. I think Leipzig has more depth and quality here, and even though they are playing in the Europa League next week, they will go for the win here.
