RB Leipzig is hosting Union Berlin at Red Bull Arena in round 31 of the German Bundesliga. Leipzig has qualified for the DFB Pokal finals, and they are also in the Europa League semifinals. Union Berlin is a solid team that could still reach the Europa League or even the Champions League, but they did lose in their DFB Pokal match earlier this week.
Leipzig is now undefeated in their last 17 games, while they have won their last 4 games straight. In Bundesliga, Leipzig is now in 3rd place with 54 points, and as I’ve mentioned they have qualified for the DFB Pokal finals by beating Union Berlin earlier this week. In the Europa League next week, Leipzig will play against Rangers, and the first leg is in Germany. With 17 scored goals, Nkunku has scored 17 goals and has added 13 assists for Leipzig so far this season, while Silva has added 10 goals. The next few weeks will be crucial for Leipzig, and even though they can’t win Bundesliga this season, they could still win 2 other trophies. Leipzig is probably the biggest favorite to win the Europa League, and they are definitely the biggest favorite to win the DFB Pokal.
Union Berlin is a good team, they were on a nice winning streak, but their latest loss has cost them a spot in the finals. As I’ve mentioned, Union Berlin could still qualify for the Europa League, and even the Champions League, but that would be a miracle. Union Berlin hasn’t been scoring a lot of goals, they have scored 40 so far, and their leading goalscorer is Awoniyi with 13 goals. Giesselmann has added 6 assists. Despite losing in the DFB Pokal semifinals, Union Berlin is still in good form, they are having a great season, and they could qualify for the Europa League, which would have been an upgrade from this season’s Conference League. Union has a few injuries, but nothing they can’t handle.
When these two teams meet, we usually see a lot of goals, while the last 3 games between them have gone over 2.5 and both teams have scored. I give the advantage to Leipzig because they are the home team here, and they are in fantastic form right now, but I will stick to goals.
