Liverpool is hosting Everton at Anfield in the Merseyside Derby of round 34 in the English Premier League. Liverpool is on a massive run, they are in the Champions League semifinals, in the FA Cup finals, and they are still in the title run in the EPL. Everton is in a different kind of battle, the one for their lives, and at the moment, they are winning.
It’s been a while since Liverpool lost a game, but it hasn’t been that long since they have destroyed their opponent. Just a few days ago, Liverpool was playing against Manchester United, and they have won that game 4-0 at home. In the standings, Liverpool is now in 2nd place with 76 points, and it will be a very tight battle with City for the title until the very last game this season. Liverpool has been very effective this season with 83 scored goals, and Salah is their leading goalscorer with 22 goals and 12 assists. Jota has added 15 goals, while Mane has 14 goals. There are no injuries in Liverpool right now, and that is a good thing because they will need everyone if they want a shot at all 3 trophies they are fighting for.
Everton has gotten 4 points from their last 3 games, and that means a lot to a team fighting to stay in the EPL. In their last game against Leicester, Everton was losing until the 91st minute when Richarlison tied the score. With 29 points, Everton is now in 17th place, which is only 1 spot above the relegation zone, and only by 1 point. The good news is that Everton has a game in hand, and that will probably be what will save them this season. with only 34 scored goals, Everton has been one of the weakest offensive teams in the league, and Richarlison is their leading goalscorer with 8 goals. The injuries have been a problem for Everton this season, and they still have a few important injured players. I’m sure Everton was expecting to be a lot higher this season, but all they can do now is the fight to stay in the EPL, and then try and do something next season.
Liverpool is still undefeated at home this season, while Everton has won only 1 game on the road so far, I think you know when I’m going with this. Everton will fight here, they might even score, but there is no way they can get a win.
