Newcastle United is hosting Arsenal at St James’ Park in round 37 of the English Premier League. Newcastle has done extremely well in the second half of the season, they have had a lot of great results, and they are far away from the relegation zone right now. Arsenal has lost in their last game, and they are outside the Champions League zone right now, which puts a lot of pressure on them.

Newcastle has lost both of their last 2 games, but those were against City and Liverpool, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they bounce back in this one. With 43 points, Newcastle is now in 14th place, they have scored 40 goals, while they have conceded 61 goals so far, which is not great, to be honest. After this game, Newcastle is playing against Burnley on the road, and that is the game they can certainly win, but I also think they are good enough to get a good result in this game as well. Callum Wilson is the leading goalscorer for Newcastle with 6 goals, while Saint-Maximin added 5 goals and 4 assists. The injury list is still pretty long for Newcastle, but it doesn’t matter much as the season is over. Newcastle’s only goal was to stay in the league, and they accomplished that.

Arsenal was on a fantastic winning streak, they were in the Champions League spot, but all of that disappeared after Arsenal got destroyed by Tottenham last week. After that loss, Arsenal has dropped to 5th place, which is the Europa League spot, but they are still only 2 points behind Tottenham. The bad news for Arsenal is they have a harder last game of the season, and they no longer depend only on themselves. Arsenal has scored 56 goals so far this season, and that is simply not good enough, but their defense was decent with 45 conceded goals in 36 games. Tierney, Partey, and Magalhaes are all injured, while Holding is suspended because of the red card. Saka is still the leading goalscorer for Arsenal with 11 goals. Arsenal has a tough journey to get to the Champions League, and I don’t think they will make it. Arsenal is a good team, they have a lot of talent, but I don’t think Tottenham will slip up and drop points in their last game.

The trends are heavily on Arsenal’s side in this matchup, but Newcastle is a good team, especially at home. Arsenal might get the win here, but I see Newcastle scoring and putting up a fight.
