Chelsea is hosting Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in round 27 of the English Premier League. Chelsea has secured the Champions League spot for next season, but they could use a win here to stay in 3rd place. Leicester has had a disappointing season, they haven’t done anything in Europe, but that might be a good thing because they will focus solely on the EPL.

Chelsea has only 1 win in their last 5 games, and in the FA Cup finals last weekend, they ended up losing to Liverpool after a penalty shootout. This was the third time Chelsea has gotten to the finals and lost. As I’ve mentioned, Chelsea has secured their spot in the Champions League for next season, and they will either end in the 3rd or 4th spot, but there isn’t a difference. With 73 scored goals, Chelsea is among the best offensive teams in the league, just behind City and Liverpool. Defensively, Chelsea is also among the best teams in the league, and also behind Liverpool and City. Mount is the leading goalscorer for Chelsea with 11 goals and 10 assists, while Lukaku has 8 goals. Chelsea will be getting new owners soon, and with that new politics will start shaping this club, but one thing will remain the same, and that is their desire to win trophies.

Leicester was finally able to string a couple of wins together, and even though they were against two of the weakest teams in the league, those are still wins. During this 2-game winning streak, Leicester has scored impressive 8 goals, while conceding only 1 goal. With 48 points, Leicester is now in 9th place, and they were really close to the Conference League spot. Offensively, Leicester has done well, they have scored 57 goals, but their defense hasn’t been good enough with 57 conceded goals in 36 games. Despite being injured for a big part of the season, Vardy is the leading goalscorer for Leicester with 14 goals, while Barnes added 9 assists. Leicester will need to look for replacements for a few players who will be leaving the club, but Leicester will be ok because they always seem to find good players no one has heard of.

With neither team needing anything from here, there is no pressure and they can just come out and play. I expect an open game with a lot of chances, and I think we will see goals on both sides.
