Manchester United and Brighton face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at Old Trafford. When these two teams faced off on May 7th it was Brighton that was able to secure the 4-0 victory.

Last season, Manchester United finished in 6th place in the standings, having picked up 58 points. Some teams would be thrilled to be finishing in 6th place, but for Manchester United, that isn’t even close to good enough. Manchester United knows they need to be better this season, but this is a team that has so many questions heading into the season. Cristiano Ronaldo is still elite, and a key for this team, but there are rumblings about his future, and it’s unclear if he will even go in this game. Manchester United has brought in Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martínez and all three guys are going to be key to their success this season.

On the other side of this matchup is Brighton, who finished last season in 9th place in the Premier League having picked up 51 points. Brighton has made it clear they want to continue finishing in the top 10 of the Premier League, but there are others who believe this team could be relegated this season. The star of this team Brighton team should be Jeremy Sarmiento, who suffered some bad luck last year. There was a ton of buzz around Sarmiento last season, but he suffered a hamstring injury 13 minutes into his Premier League game. The team also brought in 18-year-old Julio Enciso who is the best team on the Paraguay international team. In this game, Brighton is going to need the defense to be strong, and do everything in their power to not make this game a shootout.

I expect Brighton is going to take a defensive shape in this game because they know for a chance at any points, the defense is going to need to be good. Manchester United’s offense hasn’t really been strong in the last few preseason games, and they aren’t going to be running up the score here. I look for a 1-0 or 1-1 type of game, and that will be enough for the under to cash.
