Leeds United vs. Everton 8/30/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Leeds United and Everton face off on Tuesday in an English Premier League showdown at Elland Road. When these two teams faced off on February 13th it was Everton that was able to secure the 3-0 victory. 

Leeds United has played well overall this season, sitting in 5th place in the standings having picked up seven points. Leeds United has played pretty well to start the season, but they really struggled in the last game. Against Brighton, Leeds United only had two shots on goal but couldn’t find the back of the net, and they were defeated 2-0. Two games ago against Chelsea, Leeds United scored three goals, and they are going to need to get the offense back on the right track to get the job done. Leeds United has scored seven goals this season and the top player has been Rodrigo, and he has scored three goals this season. Patrick Bamford is banged up heading into this game and if he does play it’s expected to be off the bench. 

On the other side of this matchup is Everton, who sits in 18th place in the standings having picked up two points. Everton knew coming into the season there might be some struggles, and so far this season, it’s been a big struggle. Everton has managed to play to a couple of draws this season, but in the losses, they have looked terrible. In the last game against Brentford, Anthony Gordon scored a goal in the 24th minute, and it looked like they might finally pick up their first win. Everton’s defense did break down late though, giving up a goal and that led to the draw. Everton has signed Neal Maupay and the big question heading into this game is if he will start, or be available to come off the bench. 

Everton brought in a big addition with Maupay, but even with him, I don’t trust Everton’s offense to find a lot of success in this game against the Leeds defense, the same defense that really shut down the Chelsea offense. Look for Leeds to score a goal or two against Everton, and that will be enough for Leeds to get the job done. Back Leeds United on the money line.
