Celtic vs. Real Madrid 9/6/22 UEFA Champions League Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Celtic and Real Madrid face off on Tuesday in a Group F UEFA Champions League game at Celtic Park. 

Celtic FC has played really well to start the season, and they currently sit in 1st place in the Scottish Premiership having picked up 18 points in six games. In the last game against the Rangers, they again had a dominant game, putting up four goals on the way to an easy victory. Liel Abada scored a goal in the 8th minute and added another in the 40th. They ended the game with only 45 percent of the possession, but six shots on target, and the victory. Celtic on the season has scored 25 goals, while their defense has given up only one goal. In this game, it’s going to be important that the defense continues to play well. Kyogo Furuhashi left the last game against the Rangers with a shoulder injury, and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. Carl Starfelt suffered a knee injury and won’t be available to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Real Madrid who sits in 1st place in La Liga having picked up 12 points so far this season. Real Madrid played against Real Betis on Saturday, and the goal-scoring started early. They scored a goal in the 9th minute and added another one in the 65th minute to win the game. Real Madrid has scored 11 goals this season, while their defense has given up four goals. Karim Benzema and Vinicius Júnior have both scored three goals so far this season. Jesus Vallejo and Alvaro Odriozola are both hurt for Real Madrid, and they won’t be able to go in this game. 

The Celtic defense has been lights out heading into this game, and I expect they are going to do everything in their power to lock down the Real Madrid offense here. It might not be enough to secure the victory, but it’s going to be enough to keep this game close. Back the Celtic +0.5 to cash.
