Greece and Northern Ireland face off on Tuesday in a League C Group 2 showdown at Apollon Smyrnis Stadium. When these two teams faced off on June 2nd it was Greece that secured the 1-0 victory. 

Greece comes into this game sitting in 1st place in the standings having picked up 12 points. On Saturday, Greece faced off against Cyprus and the defense only gave up a goal, but the offense couldn’t get anything going, and that led to the defeat. Petros Mantalos and Georgios Giakoumakis both missed the last game because of injury, but they should move back into the starting lineup here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Northern Ireland who sit in 3rd place in the standings having picked up five points. Northern Island’s last game came against Kosovo and the offense scored two goals on the way to the victory. Northern Island had only 47 percent of the possession, but they had 10 shots on target, and that was enough to secure the victory. Gavin Whyte scored in the 82nd minute and Josh Magennis had the game winning in the 92nd minute. Stuart Dallas is dealing with a knee injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game. In this game, Northern Island needs to continue to put the shots on goal in this game. 

Greece looked awful in the last game, and they are going to struggle to get good scoring chances again in this game. Northern Ireland will put at least 10 shots on target again, and at least a few of those will go in the back of the net. Northern Ireland is going to have no issue securing the victory.
