AFC Bournemouth vs. Wolves 8/31/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

AFC Bournemouth and the Wolves face off on Wednesday in an English Premier League showdown at Vitality Stadium. When these two faced off in 2020, it was the Wolves that secured the 1-0 victory. 

AFC Bournemouth isn’t very happy with the way they have started, and they currently sit in 17th place in the standings having picked up three points. Bournemouth opened up the season with a win against Aston Villa, but since that point, they have really struggled. In the last game against Liverpool, the defense couldn’t have played worse, giving up nine goals. Bournemouth only had 30 percent of the possession and two shots on goal. Dominic Solanke is expected to return to the lineup and that is a big boost for the offense. After the way they looked in the last game, it wouldn’t be shocking if they made some big changes to the lineup to try to find a spark somewhere. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Wolves, who sit in 19th place in the standings having picked up two points. There were high expectations for the Wolves heading into the season, but outside of that, it’s been a major disappointment. In the last game against Newcastle, they opened up a 1-0 lead, and it looked like they would find a way to pick up another win. In the 90th minute though the defense had a lapse giving up a goal, and they were only able to pick up a win. The Wolves have scored two goals this season, while their defense has given up four goals. This is still a defense-first team, but they need to find a way to score some goals. Leander Dendoncker looks like he could make the start in the midfield. 

Bournemouth’s defense really struggled in the last game, but the good news is that the Wolves’ offense hasn’t been good, so their defense should look a lot better in this game. Look for the Wolves to struggle to score again and that will be the difference as AFC Bournemouth is going to get the job done. Back Bournemouth on the money line.
