Argentina and Saudi Arabia face off on Tuesday to kick off their World Cup in a Group C soccer showdown at Lusail Stadium.

There aren’t a ton of expectations surrounding this Saudi Arabia team, and most expect they are going to finish in 4th place in this group. Saudi Arabia has been busy heading into the World Cup and have actually had some solid results. Since October 22nd, Saudi Arabia has played four games, and they are unbeaten in three of the four games. On November 16th they faced off against Croatia, and the offense couldn’t get on the board. The defense wasn’t awful, but they ended up losing 1-0. On November 10th they faced off against Panama, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Riyadh Sharahili is dealing with a muscle injury, and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. Fahad Al-Muwallad failed a drug test and was also left off of the squad.

On the other side of this matchup is Argentina, who have dreams of winning the World Cup this year. Argentina has only played one game this month, but they were quite impressive in it. Against the United Arab Emirates, Argentina scored five goals, and they were able to secure an easy victory. Angel di Maria scored two goals in the game. Messi was training by himself during training sessions, but the reports are that he is good to go and will be starting in this game. This team has one of the best attacks in the world.

Saudi Arabia’s defense has been good heading into this game, but they aren’t much of a scoring threat, and they won’t put any pressure on the defense of Argentina. Argentina is going to really test the defense of Saudi Arabia, and they are going to score at least two goals here. This is going to be an easy victory for Argentina. Back Argentina -1.5 to cash. I am also throwing a few dollars on Argentina to win by an exact score of 2-0.
