AS Monaco is welcoming PSG to Stade Louis II in round 29 of the French Ligue 1. Monaco is not doing well, they got knocked out of the Europa League, and they are very far from the top 3 in Ligue 1. PSG will win the title in Ligue 1, but that is all they will do because they are out of the Champions League, and they got knocked out of the French Cup as well.

Monaco has won only 1 of their last 8 games, and that was against Marseille in Ligue 1 a few weeks ago. In the Europa League, Monaco lost to Braga in the first leg, and they tied in the second leg, which means they got knocked out. As far as Ligue 1 goes, Monaco has completely failed, they are in 9th place with 41 points, and they are pretty far from that 3rd place that would take them to the Champions League qualifications. Ben Yedder is the leading goalscorer for Monaco with 15 goals, while Henrique has added 5 assists. All Monaco can do now is focus on Ligue 1, play the best they can, and hope they will get lucky enough to climb the standings to one of the top 5 spots to reach Europe for next season.

PSG has lost 3 of their last 5 games, and their latest loss came at the wrong time, against Real Madrid. In Ligue 1, PSG is at the top, and they have a 15-point advantage, which is very hard to lose when you are a team without competition in the league. In their last game in Ligue 1, PSG has beaten Bordeaux at home, but they didn’t find much solace in it. The situation in and around the club is pretty grim, Neymar wants to leave, Mbappe will leave, while Messi is far from being happy, but he will stay until the end of his contract. Mbappe is the leading goalscorer for PSG with 16 goals and 11 assists, while Messi has added 10 assists. The number suggests Messi was solid during his time with PSG, but overall performance wasn’t that good from him. There are now quite a few injuries in PSG, and they will certainly miss those players. Messi is also among the injured players apparently. PSG can only play for their honor for the rest of the season, I don’t see anyone catching up to them, and I think the title is in their pocket.

The trends are on PSG’s side in this matchup, but PSG has been anything but a safe bet this season. I think Monaco could score at least 1 goal here, but I’m not sure they can get a win, which is why I stay away from sides.
