Atletico Madrid vs. Levante 2/16/22 LaLiga Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Atletico Madrid is welcoming Levante to Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in round 21 of the Spanish LaLiga. Atletico is struggling massively on the defensive end this season, but the good news is their offense is still picking the slack. Levante is the weakest team in the league, their defense doesn’t exist, and they will be getting relegated at the end of the season.

Atletico is in 5ht place in LaLiga right now, it’s clear they will not be defending the title this season, but they will have a heck of a fight to get to that Champions League spot. When we talk about the Champions League, Atletico will be facing Manchester United next week, and they have a good chance, but they will need better defense. In their last game, Atletico was playing against Getafe, and that was an exciting game. The halftime result was 3-3, but Atletico snagged a win with a goal in the 89^th minute. There are a few injuries in Atletico, and if we add the bad form into the mix, Atletico is not doing well. Correa is the leading goalscorer for Atletico with 10 goals, while Suarez has added 8 goals. Overall, Atletico is still a good team, they just can’t get a hang of their game this season, and that is a problem.

As I’ve mentioned, Levante is probably the weakest team in the league this season, they are not scoring goals, and they are conceding a ton. Levante has conceded 50 goals so far, they are far away from the safe zone, and they will be getting relegated unless they go on a winning streak, which is unlikely, to be honest. Morales is the leading goalscorer for Atletico with 6 goals, while Mustafi, Franquesa, Vezo, and Clerc are all injured. Levante has won only 1 of their last 9 games, and that is simply not enough to stay in the league, which is sad because Levante was quite decent last season. Offensively, Levante is averaging 1 scored goal per game, but they are conceding over 2 goals per game, and they are by far the worst defensive team in the league. Sure, there is still enough time left for Levante to turn things around, but that will not happen this season.

The trends are on Atletico’s side in this matchup, and they are the better team, but with a defense like that, you never know. I know Atletico is struggling, but Levante is struggling more, which is why I’m taking Atletico.
