Bologna is welcoming Napoli to Renato Dall’Ara in round 22 of the Italian Serie A. Bologna is struggling, they have a ton of injured players and covid players, and I think they are praying for this game to get postponed. Napoli is no better when it comes to injuries, they are missing some key players, and I don’t think they would mind for this game to get postponed as well.

Bologna has now lost 4 of their last 5 games, but they did destroy Sassuolo in that game a couple of weeks ago. In their last game, Bologna was playing against a weak Cagliari team, and they ended up losing that game 2-1. With 27 points, 28 scored goals, and 33 conceded goals, Bologna is now in 13th place, and they are far away from the relegation zone, but I think they are good enough to get to the Conference League if they were healthy. As I’ve mentioned, there are a ton of injuries and covid cases in Bologna, but the good news is that their leading striker Marko Arnautovic is available, and he will play. Arnautovic has scored 6 goals for Bologna so far this season. Overall, Bologna is a good team, but all these injuries are affecting their game a lot, and they will need to suffer through that.

Napoli has also been struggling as of late, and they have lost in the Coppa Italia to Fiorentina earlier this week, after overtime. In Serie A, Napoli hasn’t lost in their last 2 games, but they have won only one of those two, and their offensive efficiency has dropped drastically. Even with this bad spell, Napoli is still in the title race, and they are now in 3rd place with 43 points, which is 7 points less than Inter at the top. Osimhen, Rui, Insigne, and Zielinski are all injured, while Koulibaly, Ounas, and Zambo are all playing for their countries in the African Cup of Nations. With Osimhen out of commission, Mertens has taken over the leading goalscorer mantle, and he now has 6 goals to his name. Insigne and Zielinski have each added 5 assists, but as I’ve mentioned, they are both injured. Napoli is also a good team overall, a great team, and they have proved to us they can compete with everyone, but that was at the start of the season, which is the form they need to get back as soon as possible.

This is the matchup of the two struggling teams, but even with all the injuries, Napoli is the better team. Bologna can be dangerous, and while Napoli’s offense has been pretty dull as of late, I think they should score against this struggling Bologna team.
