Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen face off on Tuesday in a Group G Champions League showdown at Westfalenstadion.
Borussia Dortmund currently sits in second place in the Bundesliga, having picked up 12 points so far this season. Dortmund’s last game on Friday against Hoffenheim, and it was a pretty easy victory. Marco Rues scored in the 16th minute, and the defense locked down the rest of the game on the way to the victory. They had 15 shots on five shots on goal. Dortmund has scored eight goals this season, while they have given up four. One problem for Dortmund is they are really banged up heading into this game. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens suffered a dislocated shoulder and will miss this game. Karim Adeyemi, Raphael Guerreiro, Mateu Morey, and Donyell Malen also missed out on the last game and their status for this game is unclear.
F.C. Copenhagen currently sits in 6th place in the Danish Superleague having picked up 12 points so far this year. Their last game came on Friday against Silkeborg, and they were able to win 1-0. Viktor Claesson scored a goal in the 41st minute and that was enough to secure the victory. They only had 45 percent of the possession, but they out shot their opponent 5-4. Copenhagen is also banged up heading into this game, and they are expected to be without Roony Bardghji and Kamil Grabara. If Copenhagen is going to win this game, they are going to need a big game out of Andreas Cornelius.
Dortmund might be banged up heading into this game, but even their backups are better than this Copenhagen crew. Copenhagen has been inconsistent this season, and this is going to be the game where they really struggle to score. Dortmund should have no issues getting through the back end of the Copenhagen defense, and that will be the difference here as the favorites get the job done. Back Borussia Dortmund -1.5.
