Cameroon vs. Serbia 11/28/22 World Cup Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Cameroon and Serbia face off on Monday in a World Cup Group G soccer showdown at Al Janoub Stadium. 

Cameroon currently sits tied for third, having picked up zero points in this group. Cameroon faced off against Switzerland in the opening game of the World Cup, and they didn’t look awful, but they ended up losing 1-0. The defense gave up one goal in the 48th minute, and it was the difference. Cameroon out shot Switzerland 5-3 and had 49 percent of the possession. There has been a lot of chatter surrounding Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting heading into this game, but he’s expected to continue to start. Midfielder Olivier Ntcham has picked up an injury and is now ruled out for the rest of the World Cup. 

On the other side of this matchup is Serbia, who sits tied for third place having picked up zero points. Serbia had a tough match against Brazil to open up their season and ended up losing 2-0. The defense actually was strong for most of the game, but the pressure ended up being too much, and they gave up two goals after the 62nd minute. Serbia had 41 percent of the possession and zero shots on goal. Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic, and Filip Kostić still aren’t fully healthy. Kostic might not play in this game, but the other two are expected to have a big impact in this game. In this game, Serbia needs to push the numbers forward and put pressure on the defense of Cameroon. 

Serbia is the better team in this matchup, and they actually looked impressive against Brazil, even though they lost 2-0. Cameroon isn’t a team that has much of an offensive attack, so that isn’t something Serbia is going to have to be worried about here. Serbi knows they need the three points here, and they are going to push the numbers forward. Look for Serbia’s pressure to be too much and Cameroon is going to fold.
