Deportivo Alaves is welcoming Barcelona to Estadio de Mendizorroza in round 22 of the Spanish LaLiga. Alaves is in terrible form, they are losing games left and right, ad they are now in the relegation zone. Barcelona hasn’t won any of their last 3 games, they got knocked out of the Copa del Rey, but they are scoring more and more goals.

Alaves is now in 18th place with 17 points, and it will take a lot from them to get out of there, especially if they can’t stay somewhat consistent. Alaves has also scored only 16 goals, which is the least in the league, and they have conceded 34 goals in 21 games. Alaves hasn’t won any of their last 8 games, they have only 1 injured player and 1 suspended player, but they just can’t come together as a team. Joselu is pretty much the only player worth mentioning on this team and is their leading goalscorer with 10 goals and 2 assists. As I’ve mentioned, Alaves will need to bite and claw their way back out of the relegation zone, they are the weakest offensive team in the league, and maybe it would be good for them to get relegated and regroup in LaLiga 2.

Barcelona has climbed the LaLiga standings to 6th place, and they are now only 1 point away from the top 4, which is where they want to be to qualify for the Champions League. Offensively, Barcelona is improving, and Ferran Torres has scored his first goal for Barcelona in the Copa del Rey game earlier this week, which they lost by the way, in the extra time. Defensively, Barcelona is also gaining some traction, but not nearly enough to be considered a good defensive team. The biggest story for Barcelona this past week was that Dembele will be sold by the end of the month because he doesn’t want to extend his contract, but his destination is still unknown. Barcelona did get some players back, players like Pedri, Braithwaite, and Fati, but Fati picked up another injury, and he is still questionable for this game. Depay has 8 goals for Barcelona so far this season, while Alba has added 4 assists. I guess in a way, Barcelona’s financial crisis forced Barcelona to rely more on their academy players, and that is a good thing, I just hope they can continue that way.

Yea, I will go with Barcelona here. Despite Barcelona being inconsistent this season, Alaves is much worse, on both ends. Barcelona is scoring more and more goals, and I see them getting a win here.
