Empoli is welcoming Juventus to Carlo Castellani in round 27 of the Italian Serie A. Empoli hasn’t lost too many games lately, but they are still not a great defensive team, and it could cost them here. Juventus is scoring a lot more goals lately, and they were solid in the Champions League earlier this week, but now they need to focus on Serie A.

Even though Empoli hasn’t lost many games, they haven’t won any of their last 10 games in a row. Mostly because there are a lot of bad teams in Serie A this season, Empoli is outside the relegation zone, in 13th place with 31 points, but their defense is one of the weakest in the league. Empoli has conceded a massive 50 goals so far. Offensively, Empoli has scored 38 goals, and that is not bad. Haas, Marchizza, and Verre are all injured for Empoli. Pinamonti is the leading goalscorer for Empoli with 9 goals. Bajrami has added 4 assists. Empoli is not a bad team overall, they can’t get far away from the relegation zone, but I think they are good enough to stay out of it.

Juventus is in good form right now, they have 4 wins, and 4 draws in their last 8 games, and they even got a positive result in the Champions League earlier this week. Juventus got lucky in that game against Villarreal because they should have gotten a red card in the second half, and that would have probably cost them a positive result. In Serie A, Juventus is now in 4th place with 47 points, they have scored 38 goals, while their defense has been solid with 23 conceded goals. Juventus now has quite a few injuries, and Chiesa, Dybala, Sandro, Rugani, and McKennie are all on the list. Chiellini and Bernardeschi are still questionable for this game. Dybala is the leading goalscorer for Juventus with 7 goals, but now that he is injured, Vlahovic has to step up, and he has been doing it pretty well so far. Dybala has also added 5 assists. Juventus is also playing in the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina next week, and I think they will go for the win. Juventus will need to play much better in the second leg of the Champions League if they want to advance, but they are certainly capable of it.

Empoli is terrible right now, and they haven’t won any of their last 10 games. Juventus might be a bit tired, but I think they will get a win here. I’m taking Juventus on the money line.
