Juventus is hosting Hellas Verona at Allianz Stadium in round 24 of the Italian Serie A. Juventus has been in great form as of late, they have been scoring more goals, and they are nearing the top 4 in Serie A. Hellas Verona is surprisingly one of the best offensive teams in the league, but it’s a shame their defense is not just a tad bit better.

Juventus was successful in Serie A and Coppa Italia lately, and they were able to get a positive result against Milan just before the international break. Thanks to this nice streak, Juventus is now in 5th place with 42 points, 34 scored goals, and 21 conceded goals, and they are now only 1 point away from Atalanta in 4th place. Over the next few weeks, Juventus has a few tough games on their schedule, and they are facing a solid Villarreal team in the Champions League. Over the last couple of weeks, Juventus was working on a big deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic, and they succeeded, but it cost them over 70 million Euros. By signing Vlahovic, Juventus has finally gotten a superstar striker capable of scoring 20+ goals per season, and that will certainly be a huge help in the Champions League as well.

Verona has won 3 of their last 4 Serie A games, but the good news is they have scored at least 1 goal in their last 5 Serie A games. Thanks to their outstanding offense this season, Verona is now in 9th place with 33 points, but if they were slightly better defensively, they would probably be even higher in the table. Giovanni Simeone is the leading goalscorer for Verona with 12 goals, while Barak and Caprari added 8 goals each. Caprari has also added 5 assists. The bad news for Verona is Simeone is suspended because of the yellow cards, while Frabotta and Dawidowicz are both injured. I think that Verona has already exceeded the expectations for this season, but now that they are playing well, I think the ambitions have changed as well, which, unfortunately, Verona can’t accomplish because of their defense, or the lack thereof.

When playing at home, Juventus has not lost to Verona in their last 12 games, and I think it will stay that way. I think Verona is great, but with Juventus’ new offensive firepower, it will be hard for Verona to defend.
