Lille OSC vs. PSG 2/6/22 Ligue 1 Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Lille OSC is hosting PSG at Stade Pierre Mauroy in round 23 of the French Ligue 1. After winning the title last season, Lille was expected to be a lot better this season, but they totally blew it. PSG is at the top of the table, they will win the title, but their goal is the Champions League.

With only 32 points, Lille is now in a low 11^th place, they have scored only 30 goals, but it’s their defense that is keeping them low. Lille has conceded 30 goals in 22 games. Fortunately for Lille, they have done well in the Champions League, and they will be playing against Chelsea in a couple of weeks. In their last 3 Ligue 1 games, Lille has 1 draw, 1 loss, and 1 win, which is simply not good enough to big higher in the table. With 12 scored goals so far, the Canadian international Jonathan David is the leading goalscorer for Lille, while Yilmaz has scored only 5 goals so far, and that is the biggest problem for Lille. There are still a few injuries for Lille, but that is no excuse to not do better this season. Lille will not be anywhere near the top of the table, but they might do well enough to get to the Europa League.

PSG hasn’t lost in Ligue 1 in a while, but they did lose in the French Cup earlier this week, and that was after a penalty shootout against Nice. With 53 points, PSG is leading the Ligue 1, they have scored 46 goals, and their defense was good enough so far with only 18 conceded goals. Mbappe is leading PSG with 11 goals and 10 assists, but he signed a deal with Real Madrid where he will go to in the summer. As far as Messi goes, that was a bust for PSG to be honest, and as much as I love Messi as a player, I think he doesn’t fit in PSG right now. PSG will be facing Real Madrid in the Champions League in a couple of weeks, and offensively, they have nothing to worry about, but Real Madrid is fantastic when it comes to scoring goals, and PSG will have a very tough time stopping them. There are still a few injuries in PSG, but after getting knocked out of the French Cup, PSG will go for the win here.

Lille has had a lot of success against PSG in the past, especially when playing at home, but they are not playing well this season. Lille hasn’t lost any of their last 13 home games, but PSG hasn’t lost any of their last 6 games on the road. I think PSG will be looking for redemption here, and I will side with them.
