The Netherlands and Argentina face off on Friday in the Quarterfinals of the World Cup at Lusail Stadium. On paper, this looks like it could be the most exciting game of the entire World Cup.

Netherlands finished in first place in Group A picking up seven points. The Netherlands faced off against the United States in the first round of the knockout stage, and they were able to secure a 3-1 victory. Memphis Depay opened up the scoring in the 10th minute, and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Netherlands finished with 41 percent of the possession and six shots on target. Jeremie Frimpong dealt with an ankle injury heading into the game against the United States, but he played, and it’s expected that he will be good to go in this game. Stefan de Vrij is expected to be able to go in this game, but it’s expected that he could come off the bench here.

On the other side of this matchup is Argentina who finished in first place in Group C having picked up six points. Argentina faced off in the first game of the knockout stage against Australia, and they were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Lionel Messia scored in the 36th minute and Julian Alverez scored in the 57th minute on the way to the victory. Argentina had 61 percent of the possession and five shots on target. Papu Gomez suffered a sprained ankle in the last game, and it’s expected that he’s going to miss this game. Angel Di Maria is dealing with a quad injury, and it’s expected that he’s going to be able to go in this game. In this game, Argentina is going to need the offense to be strong.

There is going to be no shortage of scoring in this game. The Netherlands have a ton of talent on the front line, and they are going to run up the score here. Argentina also has Messi, and they scored two goals in the last game. This is going to be a game that finishes 2-2 or 3-2 at the end of regulation. Back the over 3.5 goals to cash.
