Newcastle United and Aston Villa face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. James Park. When these two teams faced off on February 13th it was Newcastle that secured the 1-0 victory.

Aston Villa currently sits in 15th place in the group having picked up 12 points. Aston Villa is coming off a big victory in the last game. Aston Villa scored four goals against Brentford on the way to an easy victory. Three of the goals were scored in the first 14 minutes, including two by Danny Igns. Aston Villa had 45 percent of the possession and 11 shots on target. Lucas Digne and Ludwig Augustinsson are expected to be both back soon, but will miss out on this game. This is expected to be the same squad that was able to beat Brentford 4-0 in the last game.

On the other side of this matchup is Newcastle United, who sits in 4th place in the group having picked 21 points. Newcastle has picked up at least a point in each of their last seven games. In the last game, Newcastle scored two goals against Tottenham and were able to secure the victory. Newcastle finished the game with 47 percent of the possession and five shots on target. Allan Saint-Maximin is dealing with a thigh injury, and it’s very unlikely that he’s going to be able to go in this game. Alexander Isak is also dealing with a thigh injury and will be out for the next couple of months.

With how hot Newcastle has been heading into this game, it’s hard to bet against them. Villa’s offense was strong in the last game, but they still haven’t been exactly elite this season, and they are going to struggle to score again here. Look for Newcastle to score a couple of goals, and they will get the job done. Back Newcastle on the money line.
