Newcastle United and Brentford face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. James Park. When these two teams faced off on February 26th it was Newcastle that secured the 2-0 victory.

Newcastle currently sits in 7th place in the standings, having picked up 11 points. Newcastle’s last game came against Fulham, and it was an impressive 4-1 victory. Callum Wilson opened up the scoring in the 11th minute, and Miguel Almiron scored two goals. Newcastle had 10 shots on target and 69 percent of the possession. Wilson is expected to play again in this game, and he should be able to go longer than the 30 minutes he played over the weekend. Jonjo Shelvey, Emil Krafth, and Karl Darlow are all dealing with long-term issues, and they aren’t going to be able to go in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Brentford who sits in 10th place in the standings having picked up 10 points. Brentford’s last game came against AFC Bournemouth, and they played to a 0-0 draw. They had 58 percent of the possession and four shots on goal, but they couldn’t find the back of the net. , Pontus Jansson had to leave the last game because of an injury, and it’s hard to imagine that he’s going to be able to go in this game. Christian Norgaard is dealing with an Achilles injury, and he also won’t be able to go in this game. Aaron Hickley is also expected to come back into the game.

When these two teams faced off, there are usually plenty of goals scored, and it’s going to be no different in this game. Brentford’s last game was lower scoring, but they should have no issue attacking the defense of Newcastle. Newcastle is also going to score a couple of goals and the over is going to cash.
