Newcastle vs. Leeds United 12/31/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Newcastle United and Leeds United face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. James Park. Newcastle were able to beat Leeds United 1-0 on January 22nd. 

Newcastle currently sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 33 points. On Monday, Newcastle scored three goals and that was enough to secure an easy victory. Chris Wood opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute, and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Newcastle only had 39 percent of the possession and five shots on target.  Newcastle looked really good in the last game, and they probably won’t be making changes heading into this game. Callum Wilson could be healthy though, and he could move into the starting lineup here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Leeds United who sits in 15th place in the standings having picked up 15 points. Leeds United faced off against Manchester City and they were defeated 3-1 in that game. Pascal Strujik scored in the 73rd minute, but it was too little too late as they were defeated. Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville are both dealing with fitness concerns, and but it’s expected that they could be ready to go in this game. Tyler Adams is also returning from suspension and that should be a big boost for this team. Patrick Bamford is dealing with a groin injury and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

This Leeds United defense has been an issue this season and they are going to struggle again to defend here. Look for Newcastle to score at least two goals, and that is going to be the difference here as they are going to get the job done. I don’t think Leeds United is going to score either.
