Overall, I would call this season a success for Rayo, but they could have done better with a bit of luck.

As I’ve mentioned, Atletico was playing in the Champions League earlier this week, and with a 0-1 win on the road, they have knocked out United. As far as LaLiga goes, Atletico is now in 4^th place with 51 points, which is the same amount Barcelona has just a spot above them. Defensively, Atletico is still only an average team, and that won’t be fixed this season. when it comes to scoring goals, Atletico is actually having a great season with 52 scored goals. Correa is the leading goalscorer for Atletico with 11 goals, while Suarez has 9 goals. There are a few injured players in Atletico, Carrasco is suspended, and they could also be a bit tired in this game. In the quarterfinals, Atletico has drawn Manchester City, and they will need to be at their absolute best to win that game.

Atletico is in much, much better form right now, and they are favorites in this game. The trends are also heavily on Atletico’s side, and despite playing in the Champions League, I see them winning this game.
