Real Madrid is hosting Elche CF at Santiago Bernabeu in round 22 of the Spanish LaLiga. Real Madrid is on a 5-game winning streak, and they have won the Spanish Super Cup last weekend. Elche has lost to Real Madrid in Copa del Rey earlier this week, but they have been solid in LaLiga as of late.

Real Madrid is still at the top of the table in LaLiga, but Sevilla has gotten within 4 points from them, and they better hit that gas pedal. Real Madrid has 49 points, they are the best offensive team in the league with 45 scored goals, and their defense is quite good with only 18 conceded goals. Karim Benzema is having an outstanding season with 17 scored goals and 7 assists, and he will be the best player in the league finally. Vinicius Junior is also having a great season with 12 scored goals. There are no injuries in Real Madrid as of right now. Real is the main competitor for the title in LaLiga this season, but they are still playing in the Champions League, and in the Copa del Rey, and that could stretch them a bit thin.

I mentioned that Elche has lost to Real Madrid earlier this week, but it took overtime for them to lose, and I think they can be proud of themselves. Elche was on a 3-game winning streak just before that loss, and they are now in 15^th place in the standings with 22 points. Elche isn’t that good in the attacking end, and they have scored only 21 goals so far, but their defense is not that bad with 28 conceded goals. The good news for Elche is there are quite a few worse teams in LaLiga, which means they will have an easier way to secure their LaLiga spot for next season. Elche does have a few covid cases and injuries, and that will certainly hurt them in this game. Lucas Boye is the leading goalscorer for Elche with 6 goals, while Milla added 4 goals. Morente has added 3 assists. Elche is in solid form, but they are not a deep team, they don’t have a lot of quality on the bench, and I think they are overperforming a bit, but I don’t think they will have any problems securing their LaLiga status for next season.

Real has beaten Elche the other day in overtime, but this will be a completely different game. Real is a huge favorite here, they will have Benzema in the lineup, and I see them getting a nice home win.
