Sheriff vs. Omonoia 11/3/22 UEFA Europa League Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Sheriff FC and Omonoia face off on Thursday in a Group E Europa League showdown at Sheriff Stadium. 

When these teams faced off on September 8th it was Sheriff that was able to secure the 3-0 victory. The goal scoring started in the 2nd minute and added another two goals in the second half. Sheriff had only 39 percent of the possession and four shots on goal. Omonoia had 61 percent of the possession, but only one shot on goal.

Sheriff comes into this game sitting in 3rd place in the group, having picked up three points. Sheriff’s last Europa League game came against Manchester United, and they were defeated 3-0 in that game. Sheriff had 25 percent of the possession and zero shots on target. On Sunday, Sheriff was able to secure a 2-1 victory over Dacia-2 Buiucani. Armel Zohouri missed the last game because of suspension, but he’s expected to be back in the starting line up in this game. Mudasiru Salifu had to leave the last game early because of injury, and it’s not expected that he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Omonoia who sit in 4th place in the group having picked up zero points. Last Thursday, they faced off against Real Sociedad, and they were defeated 2-0. Omonoia had 36 percent of the possession and one shot on target. On Monday, they were able to beat Anorthosis 2-0. Starting goalkeeper Fabinho will be out for the next couple of months and that is a big loss for this team. Adam Lang also picked up a card in the last game, and he is now suspended for this game. 

Sheriff is the better team in this matchup in this game that really doesn’t mean a lot to either side, outside of pride. I don’t trust this Omonoia defense and Sheriff is going to score a couple of goals early and Omonoia is going to have no answer here. Back Sheriff on the money line to cash.
