Sporting Braga and FC Sheriff face off on Thursday in the second leg of their Group of 16 Europa League showdown at Braga Municipal Stadium.

When these two teams last faced off last week it was FC Sheriff that came away with the 2-0 victory. They only had 32 percent of the possession and two shots on goal, but they were able to score on each, and put themselves in a good position. Braga had four shots on goal and 68 percent of the possession. 

The way Sporting Braga played against FC Sheriff in the last game was a bit shocking. In the last game against Tondela, it was a goal by Ricardo Horta in the 57th minute that allowed them to come away with the 1-0 victory. Braga only had two shots on goal, but more importantly, the defense allowed only two shots on goal. Braga has scored 40 goals in the Primeira Liga while their defense has given up 23 goals total. Ricardo Horta on the season has scored 14 goals and added three assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is FC Sheriff who haven’t played a whole lot of seasons in the New Year. The last game before their game against Sporting Braga was back on December 11th. In that game, the offense put up four goals, and cruised to the victory. In that last game against Braga, Sheriff only had 62 percent of pass accuracy, and that is something that is going to need to changed in this game, especially if Braga is pushing numbers forward. 

The first game between these two teams was 2-0 and I don’t think this game is going over two goals either. Both teams are going to struggle to put quality scoring chances on goal, and this game is going to go under. Back the under 2.5 as the main play, but don’t be afraid to throw a few dollars on under 1.5 at +265 to cash.
