Switzerland vs. Cameroon 11/24/22 World Cup Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Switzerland and Cameroon kick off their World Cup in a Group G soccer showdown at Al Janoub Stadium. 

Switzerland has played some excellent soccer in the last year plus, and they have a ton of confidence about this World Cup, although they did have a slip-up in their last game. In World Cup qualifiers, Switzerland finished in first place in the group, picking up 18 points. Last Thursday, they faced off with Ghana, and they were defeated 2-0. Switzerland had 56 percent of the possession, but zero shots on goal. The two goals given up were after the 70th minute. Yann Sommer might not be 100 percent because of an ankle injury, but he’s expected to start in goal here. Manuel Akanji, Fabian Schar, and Remo Freuler all have star power, and they are all expected to start in this game. In this game for Switzerland to put pressure on the Cameroon defense. 

On the other side of this matchup is Cameroon, who finished in third place at the Africa Cup of Nations, and they hope to make it out of the Group Stage. Heading into the World Cup, Cameroon has played to a couple of draws, Two games ago against Jamaica they played to a 1-1 draw and in the last game against Panama they played to a 1-1 draw. Cameroon looks to be fully healthy heading into this game. Bryan Mbuemo is healthy and will play a key role in this game. Andre Onana is a strong goalkeeper and probably be really tested in this game. Cameroon is going to need the defense to be strong here. 

Switzerland is coming off a loss, but don’t let that fool you, this is a very good team, and they have a ton of star power all over the field. Cameroon has given up a goal in each of the last two games, and they are going to score at least that here.
