Wolverhampton is hosting Manchester City at Molineux Stadium in round 33 of the English Premier League. Wolves are still fighting for Europe, but I think they are overperforming now, and I don’t think they can get there. City has to win this game to stay ahead of Liverpool, and with what they did to Newcastle last weekend, I think they might destroy Wolves here.

Wolverhampton is now without a win in their last 4 games, but they have had a nice comeback against Chelsea last weekend. That game has ended in a 2-2 draw. with 50 points, Wolves are now in 8th place, which is 5 points less than West Ham has in 7th place, but Wolves are not playing well right now. Defensively, Wolverhampton has been solid so far, and I say this again, I think they have been overperforming, but their offense is not great with only 35 scored goals in 35 games. Podence, Kilman, and Semedo are injured. Jimenez is the leading goalscorer for Wolverhampton with only 6 goals and 4 assists, while Hee-chan has added 5 goals. Wolves have a pretty hard schedule until the end, and realistically the only team they can beat is Norwich, and even that is questionable.

After getting knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, City has bounced back nicely against Newcastle with a 5-0 win, and they need to keep winning if they want to stay at the top of the table and win the EPL. City has the same number of points as Liverpool, but they have a game less played, and I’m pretty sure that will change after this game. On both ends, City is the best team in the league, they have been effective in the attacking end, and they have been solid defensively. City has also announced the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, and that will be a huge boost for their offense. Sterling is the leading goalscorer for City with 12 goals so far this season, while Mahrez and De Bruyne have added 11 goals each. Jesus and Concelo have added 8 assists each. City has a lot easier schedule than Liverpool does, but that doesn’t mean they can relax and celebrate the title, they still have work to do.

City has been outstanding on the road so far this season with 13 wins, 3 draws, and only 1 loss, and I don’t think Wolves will have a good time here. City needs the win, and they will get it.
