Brentford vs. AFC Bournemouth 1/14/23 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Brentford and AFC Bournemouth face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Gtech Community Stadium. When these two teams faced off on October 1st the game ended in a 0-0 draw. 

Brentford currently sits in 9th place in the standings having picked up 26 points. Last Saturday, Brentford faced off against West Ham, and that game ended in a 1-0 defeat. Brentford had 60 percent of the possession and one shot on target, but they couldn’t find the back of the net. In this game, they need to find a way to get the offense going. Ivan Toney is still working his way back from injury, and it looks like he could be healthy enough to go in this game. Shandon Baptiste, Frank Onyeka, and Aaron Hickey all look to be getting healthy too, and could all return in this game. This lineup might look a lot different from against West Ham, but it’s also a lot healthier. 

On the other side of this matchup is AFC Bournemouth, who sits in 16th place in the standings having picked up 16 points. Last Saturday against Burnley, AFC Bournemouth scored two goals, but the defense gave up four goals and that led to the two goal defeat. Bournemouth had 46 percent of the possession and six shots on target, but it wasn’t enough as the defense really let them down. Adam Smith picked up a fifth yellow card in the last game, and he now has to be suspended for this game. Ryan Fredericks is still dealing with an injury, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

Brentford are at home, and that’s where they have found most of their success this season. They also seem to be getting healthy at the right time, and they are going to find success here, especially with the defense. Look for Brentford to score two or three goals, and that will be enough to secure the victory.
