Everton and Brighton face off on Tuesday in an English Premier League showdown at Goodison Park. When these two teams faced off on January 2nd of last year, it was Brighton that secured the 3-2 victory.

Everton currently sits in 16th place in the standings, having picked up 15 points. On Saturday, against Manchester City, Everton played to a 1-1 draw. They fell behind 1-0 in the 24th minute, and it looked like it could be another long game. Demari Gray scored in the 64th minute, and that was enough to pick up the point. Everton had 26 percent of the possession and one shot on goal. Amadou Onana picked up a yellow card in the last game and will now be suspended for this match. Tom Davies could move into the starting lineup to take his place. Everton could move back to a 4-5-1 to try a more attacking style.

On the other side of this matchup is Brighton, who sits in 9th in the standings having picked up 24 points. On Saturday they faced off against Arsenal and the defense really struggled, giving up four goals. Karou Mitoma and Evan Ferguson did score in the second half, but it wasn’t enough. Brighton did have 68 percent of the possession and five shots on target. Danny Welbeck and Adam Webster missed the last game because of injury, and neither play is expected to play in this game. Moises Caicedo was suspended in the last game, but he will be back into the starting lineup in this game.

Everton’s defense looked good against Manchester City, but I’m still not sold that this defense is actually good. Brighton is going to score two or three goals off of them, and that will be the difference, as Brighton is going to get the job done. Back Brighton on the money line to cash.
