AC Milan vs. Atalanta 5/15/22 Serie A Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

AC Milan is welcoming Atalanta to San Siro in round 37 of the Italian Serie A. Milan is at the top of the table right now, but they need to keep winning their games to stay there. Atalanta is fighting for the Europa League, and they are close, but this will be a hard game for them.

Milan is now on a nice 3-game winning streak, and they have been solid on both ends in those 3 games. As I’ve mentioned, Milan is at the top of the table with 80 points, but that is only 2 points more than Inter has. Offensively, Milan is performing really well, they have scored 64 goals so far this season, but that is still a lot less than Inter has scored. On the defensive end, Milan has been one of the best teams in the league, and they have conceded only 31 goals in 36 games. Leao is leading Milan with 10 goals, while Hernandez and Leao have added 6 assists each. Kjaer is now the only injured player for Milan and having an almost full roster available will certainly be helpful in this title race. Milan is on a good run, they are playing well, and I really hope they can win the title.

Atalanta is undefeated in their last 4 games, but they have only 2 draws in those 4 games. With 59 points, Atalanta is now in 8th place with 59 points, which is the same as Fiorentina has, and only 1 point less than Roma has in 6th place, which is the last Europa League spot. Atalanta has been very inconsistent this season, especially on the defensive end, and while scoring 65 goals is a nice accomplishment, it’s not good enough for Atalanta. Pasalic has been outstanding for Atalanta this season with 13 goals and 6 assists, while Zapata added 10 goals. The good news for Atalanta is they are almost injury-free, and that will give them more chances to qualify for Europe. I think some changes are about to happen in Atalanta this summer, possibly even the coaching change, but we will see. Atalanta is an insanely talented team, they can play incredible football when they are in good form, but that form was nowhere to be found this season.

Both teams have something to play for in this game, but Milan needs the win more, and they have a lot more to lose here. Milan is in slightly better form, and I think they have been more consistent this season. I’m keeping this one simple, and I’m taking Milan to win.
