AC Milan and RB Salzburg face off on Wednesday in a UEFA Champions League Group E showdown at San Siro.
When these two teams faced off on September 6th, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw. RB Salzburg had 34 percent of the possession and four shots on goal. AC Milan had 66 percent of the possession, but only managed three shots on goal.
AC Milan comes into this game sitting in second place in the group, having picked up seven points this year. AC Milan’s last Champion League game came against Dinamo Zagreb, and they were able to secure a 4-0 victory. They scored four goals between the 39th and 69th minutes. They had 44 percent of the possession and 10 shots on target. On Sunday, they faced off against Torino and were defeated 2-1. Fikayo Tomori served a suspension in the last game, but he’s expected to play in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is RB Salzburg who sits in 3rd place in the group having picked up six points. Last Tuesday, they faced off against Chelsea, and they were defeated 2-1. Junior Adamu scored in the 49th minute, but it wasn’t enough as they were defeated. RB Salzburg only had 29 percent of the possession, but they did have seven shots on target. Junior Adamu and Oumar Solet are both dealing with injuries right now, and it doesn’t look like either player is going to be ready to go for this game.
The injuries concern me for both of these teams, and I think goals are going to be hard to come by for both teams. AC Milan hasn’t been exactly known for keeping clean sheets, but they won’t give up more than a goal here. I also don’t think their offense is going to score more than a goal, and that will be the difference as this game stays under the total. Back the under to cash here.
