Arsenal is hosting Leeds Untied at Emirates Stadium in round 36 of the English Premier League. Arsenal is in great form right now, they are in 4th place, but they still have a few tough games ahead. Leeds is fighting for their lives in the EPL, and they lost an important player last week, which is a massive blow for them.
Arsenal is on a 3-game winning streak during which they have scored 9 goals, but they have conceded a goal in each of their last 6 games, 10 goals in total. With 63 points, Arsenal is now in 4th place, which is the Champions League spot, and that is their main goal this season. Offensively, Arsenal has been solid this season with 54 scored goals, but their defense hasn’t been the best in the second half of the season. Saka is the leading goalscorer for Arsenal with 11 goals, while Smith-Rowe has added 10 goals. Tierney and Partey are both injured. A tough few weeks are ahead of Arsenal, but if they can keep producing as much in the attacking end, I think they might qualify for the Champions League.
Leeds is above the relegation zone right now, but not by much, and they are still in grave danger of getting relegated. I love Leeds, I love what they stand for, and I think they are a talented team, but if they get relegated, half of their players will leave. With 34 points, Leeds is now in 17th place, and they have scored only 38 goals so far this season. Defensively, Leeds has been horrible with 72 conceded goals. As I’ve mentioned, Leeds lost an important player last week, and that was Stuart Dallas who suffered a broken leg injury and will be out for a while. Raphinha is the leading goalscorer for Leeds with 10 goals, while Harrison has added 7 goals. There are a few more injuries in Leeds. The schedule is never easy for Leeds, but their last few games are on the easier side, which will certainly help them get the points they need to stay in the league.
The trends are on Arsenal’s side in this matchup, and their form is much better than Leeds’, but Leeds is fighting for their lives, and they will need to step up here. I think Leeds might snag a point here, and that is what I will go with.
