Arsenal is hosting Manchester United at Emirates Stadium in round 34 of the English Premier League. Arsenal has destroyed Chelsea in their last game, and they are still in the race for that Champions League spot. United is struggling, they have lost another game, and at the moment, they don’t have what it takes to qualify for the Champions League.
After 3 losses in a row, Arsenal has bought them another chance at the Champions League next season. with 57 points, Arsenal is now in 5th place, which is the same as Tottenham has in 4th. Offensively, Arsenal has done a decent job, but they should have done more if they wanted to avoid this hassle. Of the 49 goals Arsenal has scored so far this season, Smith-Rowe and Saka have scored 10 goals each, while Odegaard has added 6 goals. Tierney and Partey are still injured. Arsenal has a pretty hard schedule for the rest of the season, and they still need to face Tottenham who is their main opponent for that Champions League spot. Arsenal has been very inconsistent this season, and ultimately, that will cost them a spot in the Champions League.
If there is a team more inconsistent than Arsenal, it’s Manchester United. With 54 points, United is in 6th place, and theoretically, they could still reach the Champions League, but they need to start winning games. United has scored 52 goals so far this season, and Ronaldo is their leading goalscorer for United with 15 goals. Fernandes has added 9 goals, while Pogba has added 9 assists. Ronaldo should be back for this game, but it’s still unknown. Pogba is now injured, and he has played his last game for United most likely. United was playing against Liverpool in their last game, well, it was Liverpool who was playing in this game. United hasn’t done absolutely anything in this game, and they ended up losing this game 4-0. United’s schedule is solid until the end, at least on paper, and they should win most of those games, but as we can see United is struggling massively, and the end of this season will be hard for them.
The trends are on United’s side in this matchup, but they got nothing on Arsenal here. Arsenal is the home team, they are fighting for the Champions League, but I’m not ready to put my money on them.
