Barcelona vs RCD Mallorca 5/1/22 LaLiga Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Barcelona is hosting RCD Mallorca at Camp Nou in round 34 of the Spanish LaLiga. Barcelona has lost their last 2 games in a row, and they haven’t looked good at all on either end. Mallorca has won a couple of games lately, they are outside the relegation zone right now, but still very close to it.

Barcelona has lost 3 of their last 4 games, and the only one they won was against Real Sociedad, barely. In their last game against Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona has had a ton of chances, but once again they weren’t able to score a goal. They ended up losing this game 0-1. Barcelona has gone from the most effective team to a team that can’t score a goal, and that is a problem. The top spot is out of reach for Barcelona, but they desperately need a win to stay in the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League. There are some injuries in Barcelona, but most of the players are healthy. I expect Xavi to shuffle the roster here a bit, to give the chance to some other players, and I think it might pay off.

Mallorca is now in 16th place with 32 points, they have scored only 29 goals while conceding 54 goals in 33 games. Mallorca is not a great team, but they can play well when they have to, and I would say this is that kind of a game. Mallorca is only 2 points above the relegation zone right now, and with 5 games left this season, they could end up in the relegation zone. The injury list is quite long for Mallorca, some great players are on it, and Mallorca will certainly miss them because they don’t have a lot of depth right now. Muriqi and Sevilla are leading goalscorers for Mallorca with 4 goals each. There isn’t a lot of quality in this team, but the good news for them is that a lot of teams are bad in LaLiga this season, and they might end up saving themselves with a bit of luck.

Mallorca has only 2 wins on the road this season, and they haven’t won any of their last 8 games against Barcelona. I think Barcelona will step up here. The situation in Barcelona hasn’t been good, and I’m sure Xavi has taken the necessary steps to fix it. I’m trusting Barca once again.
