After winning the German Super Cup last week, Bayern went on to win their Bundesliga match, and they have won their DFB Pokal match earlier this week. In their last Bundesliga game against Koln at home, Bayern has had 57% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 4 big chances created, and 82% of the correct passes. Bayern was leading 2-0 in the 59th minute, but they conceded 2 goals in 2 minutes shortly after. Luckily for Bayern, they were able to score 1 more goal in the 71st minute, and they have won this match 3-2. Lewandowski and Gnabry have each scored 2 goals for Bayern so far this season, while Kimmich added 2 assists. Hernandez, Pavard, and Roca are all injured for Bayern. In Bundesliga, Bayern is the biggest favorite to win the title once again, but they were drawn in a strong Champions League group earlier this week, but I think Bayern is a strong team stacked with quality, and I don’t think they will have trouble advancing through the group stage.
Hertha has had a solid preseason, but once the Bundesliga started, everything went to hell. Hertha has lost both of their Bundesliga games, they have conceded 5 goals in those games, and they have scored 2 goals, one in each game. Lukebakio and Jovetic have each scored 1 goal for Hertha this season. Jarstein and Piatek are the only two injured players for Hertha. I mentioned that Hertha has sold their best player earlier this week, and the player in question is Cunha who was sold to Atletico Madrid. In their last game against Wolfsburg at home, Hertha has had 41% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 78% of the correct passes. Hertha got ahead in the 60th minute, but their defense is just terrible, and they conceded 2 goals in the last 15 minutes of the game. Hertha has lost this match 1-2. Hertha has lost a lot by selling Cunha, and if they were struggling with him in the lineup, we can imagine what will happen without him.
Hertha hasn’t had much success against Bayern, and I don’t think that will change here. With Hertha’s terrible defense, and Bayern’s fantastic offense, I see goals, and I see Bayern winning this game.
