Belgium and Morocco face off on Sunday in a World Cup Group F soccer showdown at Al Thumama Stadium.
Belgium currently sits in 1st place in the group having picked up three points. In the first World Cup game, Belgium was able to secure a 1-0 victory over Canada. Michy Batshuayi scored the goal in the 44th minute, and that was the difference. Belgium had 54 percent of the possession and three shots on target. Star striker Romelu Lukaku is still trying to return from a hamstring injury, but it doesn’t look like there is much of a chance that he will play in this game. Thomas Meunier and Amadou Onana both could be moved into the starting lineup in this game if changes decide to be made.
On the other side of this matchup is Morocco, who sits tied for second place in the group having picked up one point. In the last game against Croatia, Morocco couldn’t get on the board, and ended up playing to a 0-0 draw. Morocco finished the game with 35 percent of the possession and two shots on goal. Noussair Mazraoui was hurt in the last game, but it doesn’t seem the injury is that bad. In this game, it’s expected that he’s going to be able to play. If he ends up not playing, though, it’s going to be Yahia Attiyat-Alla that moves into the starting lineup.
Belgium won the first game, although they didn’t look that impressive. In this game, Belgium is going to find more quality scoring chances. Look for Belgium to score a goal or two and that is going to be the difference here. Back Belgium on the money line to cash here.
